Author Guidelines

Authors submitting to the Indian Journal of Adult Education are expected to submit original, unpublished work that is not simultaneously under review elsewhere. Adhering to the following guidelines will help ensure a smooth and timely review and publication process. The Indian Adult Education Association (IAEA), New Delhi reserves the right to return manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements.

Submission of Manuscripts

Manuscripts shall be submitted only through the "Make a Submission" portal available on the official IAEA website, https://iaea-india.com/. Submissions received through any other channel will not be considered. For any further communication or queries regarding a submission, authors may reach out to the Editorial Coordinator, Ms. Neha Gupta, at ijae1939@gmail.com or ijae.iaea@iaea-india.com, with a copy marked to the Director (I/c) at directoriaea@gmail.com. Receipt of manuscripts will be acknowledged within 30 days. Authors will be informed of the editorial decision within 3–6 months, and accepted papers are typically published within 6–12 months.

Cover Letter  

Each submission must include a cover letter outlining the significance of the manuscript. It should also provide complete contact details of the corresponding author (name, email, phone number, and mailing address), along with details of tables, figures, and any supplementary materials.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts must be prepared in Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, on A4 size paper with 1-inch margins on all sides. The prescribed word limits are:

-  Research/Review Articles: 3,000–5,000 words

-  Book Reviews: 700–800 words

Article Types and Structure

A. Research Articles: Title Page, Author Information, Present Address, Abstract (up to 250 words), Keywords (4–6), Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgments, References, Tables and Figures

B. Review Articles: Title Page, Author Information, Present Address, Abstract (up to 250 words), Keywords (4–6), Main Text, Acknowledgments, References, Tables and Figures.

C. Book Reviews: Book Title and Author(s), Publication Details, Reviewer’s Name and Affiliation, Main Text, and References (if any).

• Tables and Figures: Tables should be numbered consecutively (Arabic numerals), with titles placed above and notes below. Avoid duplication of data in the text. Tables must be included in the main document. Figures should also be numbered consecutively, with captions placed below, and must be clear and publication-ready.

• References: All references must follow the APA 7th edition style and be arranged alphabetically by the first author’s surname.

Note- Manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening for scope and quality before being sent for double-blind peer review, and authors should be prepared to revise their work in response to reviewer feedback within the timelines communicated by the editorial team. Submissions that do not meet the journal's formatting, ethical, or originality requirements may be returned to the author prior to review.
